YELLOW ROOM (KINDER)

Your child’s time at kindergarten is the best time for your child to learn how to adjust to school. We provide a school readiness program which runs for all year round where we aim to develop your child’s social, emotional, intellectual, physical and language abilities. Our program caters for each individual child by creating stimulating and fun learning experiences based on their level of development whilst developing their independence, confidence and self-esteem.

Our kindergarten program is based on play-based learning where we look at children’s interest and level of development. Based on the children’s interest, we will extend on their learning and help children reach a higher level of development cognitively, emotionally, socially and physically. We try to equip children with life skills through daily interactions, provide a variety of developmentally appropriate resources and values based on mutual respect, shared responsibility, trust, self- discipline and cooperation. We aim to create a safe environment that challenges children and help them to develop the belief that it is ok to make a mistake. In our program we combine teacher-initiated and child-initiated experiences which can include spontaneous learning experiences.  We also provide open-ended experiences that encourage problem-solving skills and cater for a wide range of abilities. 

Learning experiences are provided  that encourage children to develop language, cognitive, problem solving skills, social and emotional, coordination and physical development as well as creative play. Children will develop skills such as sharing and turn taking and also learn to take risks. At the end of the year, each child are given their own portfolio to take home to allow parents to gain an insight of their child’s learning and development as well as a summative assessment of each child’s learning and development which is done every 6 months. 

INCURSIONS

As part of our kindergarten program, we organise incursions based on the children's interest. We organise different incursions for the kindergarten children to participate in. As part of the program, we have organised the Melbourne Museum Dinosaur and Fossil, Responsible Pet Program, Animal Galore, Marine life, Dream Puppets, Police and Dental Nurse.
